LocalFiber is a member-run 501c3 non-profit organization based on Ithaca, NY. Our mission is to build a community of fiber farmers and textile producers who share knowledge, address common challenges and market products together.
Welcome to LocalFiber!
The Finger Lakes region of central New York State is home to an amazing array of specialized fiber animal breeds who grow wonderful natural fibers. The farmers who raise these unique animals are dedicated and hard-working, yet they often struggle to get proper recognition for their work or get a fair price for the high-quality natural fiber they produce. LocalFiber was founded to work on these problems by building a bridge between fiber farms, skillful artisans and makers, regional manufacturers and fiber services, and finally to buyers who enjoy local, regenerative, natural fiber and textiles.
